Talk #2 — Hope and Beauty Under Pressure

Pay as you feel on the door.

Hope and Beauty Under Pressure — the creative, practical and personal challenges of making good things happen today.

In discussion with:

Jude Wright from the Peace Museum, Chris Lloyd, producer for the iconic Red Ladder Theatre Company, and Nina Hunter, artist, designer and owner of Saltaire Art Gallery.

Chris Lloyd: Chris has been Executive Producer at Red Ladder for nearly 20 years. In that time the industry has gone through some challenging and interesting times which has entailed rolling with the punches, a higher need to collaborate and, also, the necessity to diversify income and cut costs. Red Ladder is a tiny organisation which expands exponentially when in production and it is Chris’s job to keep all these plates spinning.

Nina Hunter (MFA): Nina is an artist, illustrator, and founder of Saltaire Art Gallery and School. After a fifteen-year career in design and illustration, with clients including Harrods, Ferrari, and Penguin Random House, she turned toward the pursuit of fine art as a way of creating work that stands the test of time. Working from her riverside studio, Hunter paints embodiments of energy, seeking the essence of soft power and the forces that shape our presence and beliefs.

We hope you can join us for an evening shared with interesting people with good hearts and something to say.
